Archos has just introduced a new range of tablets under the name Platinum. One of the smallest is this, the model Archos 80 Platinum. It has a screen diagonal of 8 inches (just over 20 inches). The display is an LCD technology IPS, which extends the viewing angle. It offers a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels, similar to the Kindle Fire HD. It is a capacitive touch screen sensitive to multitasking. The housing, which is very thin, is made of aluminum, which helps to keep your weight under half kilo (stays at 480 grams). It’s pretty well finished and easy to grasp, is comfortable even for reading digital magazines and books with one hand.
The manufacturer has put a quad-core processor running at 1.2 GHz. Thus, this tablet can play HD movies without any difficulty, and provides all the power needed to play video games, including 3D. The graphics card is fairly advanced, a PowerVR SGX 544 with eight cores. Its specifications are completed with 2 GB of RAM. It also works perfectly with all kinds of applications. It comes with the package Office Suite Viewer preinstalled, which can handle various office documents. The operating system is Android 4.1, aka Jelly Bean.
