The company’s new processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S4

The company Qualcomm has introduced the possibilities of its new chip Snapdragon family, S4, incorporating new features as standard cameras to smartphones and ‘tablets’. Thus, the new Qualcomm chip will allow the device to measure the intensity of a smile or blink detection. It also offers controls by gestures similar to those of Kinect.

snapdragon

A series of rumors about the new processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Company have been generated so far. The S4 is the first mobile quad-core built processor using a 28-nanometer process and is the first to integrate 4 G LTE network. However, what has not been revealed yet, are some of the more specific details about the S4 and its components that enable new multimedia tasks for mobile devices. Continue reading

Life in the future according to Corning

Corning has left a new video of how we think our lives will be technology in the future.
The other day we comment on Corning and this here we leave a video that was about the near future in relation to screens.

touchscreen technology

We know that the touch screen devices are now part of our daily lives, in our smart phones and tablets, but what is going to be as touch screen technology in 10 or 15 years, will be part of our day to day and will be even in our mirror. The video also shows how we will see in our cars, such as doctors stop using a conventional tab for a tab and would touch and radiographs in the future. From my point of view is somewhat exaggerated but it is still nice to think we could live this way. Continue reading

You can carry your mobile phones with a stove

Go to a place far from civilization is no longer a problem, because we take our mobile and stay connected through a simple stove that will be responsible for terminal recharge our energy, a clean and renewable energy.

BioLite CampStove

BioLite CampStove is a small stove that can load our terminals through to its USB port that has built-in, only need to throw wood and plant fire, while producing electricity also produces heat. Continue reading

An electric fire extinguisher of pocket

Extinguish fire with water, to cool the flames, or with gas to deprive them of oxygen, that’s fine, but it is a little outdated. The future is suppression of fires with electromagnetic fields, or other techniques of destabilization of the physical phenomena of combustion.

suppression of fires

These approaches are in all cases the object of research on the part of the US military, very interested in a device that would be able to protect their soldiers faced with a fire in a cockpit or a combat vehicle.

Because firefighter’s current techniques are not perfect: water destroyed infrastructure and property sometimes as the flames, and used gases, such as halon, are toxic to humans.

And it is very difficult to carry trucks fire on a battlefield. The ideal would be to have an electrical system, which would not need a large volume of storage. A wand magic fire that could stay in a large suitcase. Continue reading

Linux 3.3: Android soon also on desktop and notebook

Apparently, Android and Linux are destined to meet in brotherly embrace with the next release of kernel 3.3 and 3.4, with which you can seamlessly run Android on common notebook or desktop. Greg KH-word!

android linux

Greg-KH, one of the leading figures of the Linux world, said in a recent interview, that “the kernel 3.3 will launch Android without changes, but will not have an optimal power management. 3.4 kernels instead will have power management that Android will also deserve and added some pieces of infrastructure that will not be available in the 3.3 release of kernel “. Nikola Tesla, the man who created the twentieth century

Today we speak about an absolute genius, fell into oblivion for many decades, but unlike other idolized characters has left an indelible mark and concrete; Nikola Tesla recorded a series of basic patents, are central to the technologies we use every day.

electricity

For sure it was an eccentric character, twice refused the Nobel Prize in physics, claimed to receive signals from Mars and to build a death ray, was a detractor of the theory of relativity by Albert Einstein and had an unusual obsession with pigeons wounded and three and its multiples but certainly without his visions our life would be very different and many of the things that belong to our daily lives would not exist. (No not the iPad) Continue reading

Computational photography

They capture light moving trillion frames per second

Researchers at the University of Zaragoza (UZ) have managed to capture light moving a billion frames per second using new techniques of computational photography, has informed the institution.

The project has been developed by scientists at the Institute of Engineering Research (I3A) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Computational photography

Computational photography technique allows see the process of formation of an image in a mirror, the dispersion of light in a liquid or the propagating waves of a front of light traveling by a scene.

This technology, according to the UZ, can be applied in many fields such as medicine, engineering, education and help, for example, to determine the effect of radiation on human tissue or combination of materials and display real phenomena ever observed. Continue reading

Bridges, buildings and software

Metaphors are a great tool to quickly understand a concept, creating a mismatch between what we know and what we want to know. In computer science it makes a great use of metaphors, but as sometimes happens, is not always entirely relevant. One of these, in truth very overused, combines software development to construction of bridges or buildings.

bridge building e software

Probably at first glance this metaphor makes the idea who is unaware of the problems of software development, but a careful analysis it is totally inadequate and misleading. Continue reading

Liquipel allows smartphones plunge

Liquipel the company has created one of the most revolutionary inventions for smartphones, and above all, the most peaceful leave users in crash water with your mobile device. Liquipel is a chemical protective isolates smartphones of any fluid in contact with it.

liquipel

The company has made Liquipel one of the most common accidents with any technological device-to spill any liquid on it-is out of the concerns of users. The company has created a chemical protector of the same name as the company, which isolates the 100 by 100 smartphone from contact with any liquid. Thus, the terminal will work even fall into a pool. Continue reading

The Fourier transform for images

Thanks to the researchers MIT the field of video and images could soon receive a major technological innovation: the new discovery would speed up the compression of images by applying an algorithm based on Fourier transform. The technique has been developed by researchers Dina Kataba and Piotr Indyki with students Eric Price and Haitham Hassanieh.

transform38

The Fourier transform is one of the most important functions of mathematics, and has found great application in computer science: for example, are used to represent the fluctuations of voltage in the wire that connects an MP3 player to a speaker, not to mention the wide use in electronic music and study of audio frequencies. But the two researchers have found a way to apply this function to the images. The technique consists of dividing the signs and trying frequencies scattered but present in each section of the signal: for there is no need to sample the whole image, but only part This technique allows to speed up the processing time up to ten times.
