Skype coming to Windows Phone track

Skype is coming into the world of Windows Phone. At CES 2012, the group is limited to explain that “soon” the app would be available, but now seems to have taken a step further: the application is already being tested at some of the employees of the group soon acquired Microsoft. Not finished, but well: Skype for Windows Phone sees the light at the end of the tunnel and after a long wait for the countdown to the debut may take away.

The application itself should not make any particular news compared to what Skype does not already available today for example iOS or Android users. However, the added value would be in the deeper integration with the operating system that the Windows Phone and Skype team have designed to maximize the quality of user experience. In particular, the application would see integrated services hub “People” where you can monitor the activity of their contacts and initiate so hopefully the calls through Skype rather than traditional telephony (therefore taking advantage of data traffic, whose consumption is optimized compression algorithms that Skype is able to field).
