The Social Network Facebook is planning out a proper smartphone and manufactured especially for users of this network.
According to a newspaper report The New York Times staff Facebook said the company expects to launch the device next year.
“These people spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of jeopardizing their employment or relationship with Facebook,” it added. “The company has hired more than half a dozen former Apple engineers who have worked in the iPad and the iPhone of the company.”
The report adds that this would be the third time that the firm Mark Zuckerberg allegedly trying to build a smart phone. The first was at the hands of the Taiwanese HTC which had thrown a phone under the code name “Buffy” still be in development.
The second would have ended badly in 2010 after noticing the sign of the difficulties is to build a product of this magnitude.
“I was asking a few points about the inner workings of development of smartphones. Did not sound like just a curious question. Mr. Zuckerberg asked intricate details, including the type of chips they used,” said former Apple engineer.
“Mark is concerned that if it creates a smartphone in the near future, Facebook could become a simple application for other mobile platforms,” said another employee of Facebook.
Experts believe that if released, the phone does not compete directly with Apple and Android, but rather would face the decision of which operating system you use.
