Download > Installing KnowledgeMiner on MS Windows

Our KnowledgeMiner Windows version will run on Windows operating systems that uses any good Macintosh emulation software. We have tested it on Ardi Executor. It is a powerful and easy-to-use Macintosh runtime environment that does not require any additional hardware and ROM maps.

To install KnowledgeMiner:

  1. Download the Windows version of KnowledgeMiner - called "km5pc.hqx" - and save this file to your hard drive.
  2. Download Executor and follow its installation procedure.
  3. Start Executor on your machine using the special Execute command of Windows. Type

    "executor.exe -applzone 64m"

in the dialog field, which will allocate 64MB RAM to KnowledgeMiner.
  4. Open the application called StuffIt Expander to decode and expand the downloaded "km5pc.hqx" file. To do that, choose "Expand" from the "File" menu, locate the "km5pc.hqx" file on your hard disk, and save the expanded file to a directory of your choice.
  5. Quit StuffIt Expander, and you find a folder named "KnowledgeMiner 5.0" in the directory you selected in the previous step.

You are now ready to open KnowledgeMiner or one of the included ready-to-use examples from within Executor. We also strongly recommend you run the tutorial first, which you can find in the "Documentation" folder.

If you have questions about installing or using KnowledgeMiner, let us know as we appreciate any feedback of our users.
