Little by little they are uncovering more details about Windows Blue, which will be the next major update of Windows 8. Few days ago it was confirmed that Microsoft was working hard on it thanks to a job offer, and now the Redmond giant sources have Blue confirmed that Windows has reached its first major milestone of the two that are planned.
Windows Blue is not the same as Windows 9:
As mentioned, Windows Blue is an update to Windows 8, which is expected to include a facelift of the new operating system from Redmond, in view of the lack of acceptance that is taking up the time of the public. Also include a new system of annual updates, which for now not much information is known.
Furthermore, Windows 9 will be the new Microsoft operating system, which is already working. However, still it has no official release date. Given the current development cycle operating systems should not be launched before the end of 2015.
Predictably will be released in late summer:
Sources have confirmed that Microsoft Windows Blue has completed its first milestone, which marks the halfway point in the project planning. These same sources said that the second milestone will be the last development, which makes it very likely that by the end of summer we see the final version of the software.
At the moment it is not clear whether Microsoft, like what you did in Windows 7 and Windows 8, it will offer Developer Preview and Consumer Preview versions of Windows Blue or if instead directly launching the final version. What is clear is that the Redmond giant’s leaders are keeping a strict secrecy in Windows Blue project, since no official statements have been made until today.
